‘I’m grateful’ – Enzo Fernandez speaks out on Barcelona transfer rumours after scoring crucial goal for Chelsea in victory at Crystal Palace

The Argentina international scored a crucial 94th-minute goal on Monday to seal a 3-1 win for Chelsea over Crystal Palace in the Premier League. After scoring for his club, Fernandez refuted claims of him leaving the Blues and joining Barcelona as he suggested that he wants to stay in London for as long as possible.

Speaking to ESPN after the match, the midfielder said: "I don't want to leave Chelsea. I'm feeling very good here with my teammates and the coaching staff and have done since the day I arrived. The people at the club are treating me very well and I'm grateful for that. I will continue here for as long as they want me to. I don't know where those [leaving] rumours came from... but I totally deny them."

The 23-year-old remains a crucial figure in Mauricio Pochettino's setup and it is unlikely that the London club will let him leave after paying a record £107 million ($131m) for him only a year ago. In his first full season at Stamford Bridge, Fernandez has scored seven goals in 30 matches across all competitions so far and has provided one assist.
