The Stewards opened an Inquiry into the running and handling of FLAK JACKET in Race 9 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 26 June 2022. After taking evidence from R Shafiq (pictured) and Trainer S Baertschiger, the Trainer of FLAK JACKET, Jockey Shafiq pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44( in that he, as the rider of FLAK JACKET, in Race 9, did fail to take all reasonable and permissible measures throughout the race to ensure that his horse was given full opportunity of winning or obtaining the best possible placing.
